So the lovely people at Trinity CineAsia are putting there 2nd Detective Conan movie into Uk cinema after the well received Detective conan million dollar pentagram in 2024 that included a take over of the Sherlock Holmes Museum now is the trun of this year Conan movie Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback which has already made more at the box office than Detective conan million dollar pentagram and is the 2nd biggest box office in japan this year only losing out to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle.

One week before Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback put on a uk movie premiere in london at the Courthouse hotel in soho and anime in the uk was invite along by Trinity CineAsia to check the event out.

We was welcomed by a Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback poster this was right next to check in

Everyone at the event was given a free poster there was a lot of Conan fans arounds a few have bought plush of there favorite characters to take photos with some people even bought iteams such as Conan theme popcorn bucket.

Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback preimer was fully of fun events they had 2 different detective games going the first was one with flies dotted around the event with a case with actors going around the event who you can ask questions about the case to, once you figure out who you thought did the crime you gave your awsners to a staff memeber, if you got the right answer you got a extra vote for the 2nd detective game.

Now onto the 2nd detective game this one of to solve the case of Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback there was evidence board with everyone from the movie on the board with 6 suspect it was now your job to look at all the evidence and fiugre out the case of Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback people who completed the detective game before got a extra vote, I used my Detective Conan logic to see if I could solve this crime there was 6 boxs each with a suspect on it I you placed your vote into the box you thought was guilty and if you was right you was put into a prize draw to win a Detective Conan watch, this gave watching the movie a other level of fun to see if you turely a ture Detective.

After this it was time to go into the cinema to see Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback I will say Courthouse hotel has a lovely little cinema there was also a other go goodie bag this time with popcron onces the movie was over it was time for the prize draw they even got some cosplayers involved. Shout out to the criminal cosplayer such a simple idea and they pull it off so well, one of my votes was right so did fill great to solve the crime sadly my number didnt come out the hat but the criminal cosplayer number did they deserved it just for the epic cosplay.

Synopsis: Nagano PD’s Kansuke Yamato and Yui Uehara are alerted when a researcher is attacked at an observatory in the Yatsugatake Mountains. During the investigation, Kansuke begins to feel a strange discomfort in the eye he injured during an avalanche 10 months earlier. Meanwhile, Kogoro receives a call from his former colleague Sametani, who claims to be investigating the same avalanche that involved Kansuke. But before Sametani can share his findings, he is assassinated right before Kogoro and Conan’s eyes. Determined to uncover the truth, Kogoro travels to Nagano himself, while Conan launches his own investigation. In Nagano, while investigating Sametani’s murder, Conan and Kogoro discover that the avalanche is linked to a robbery that took place eight years earlier. But when Detective Kansuke becomes the target of a mysterious assailant, the stakes rise sharply. From the very first scene, tension and emotion build toward a climax sealed by an avalanche in the Yatsugatake Mountain range.

Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback is the 28th movie of the long running anime franchise and over all is a fun Detective story with a intriguing mystery that links toghter many fan favorite, I enjoyed Kogoro getting a bigger role and getting to come out of his comic relief role I alway enjoy episdoes where Kogoro has to solve a case without Conan help showing that yes he not the greast Detective he still know how do get a case solved, it was fun getting to learn a bit more about his past and a fun little easter egg when we find out where him and Sametani was from. It was nice to see the Nagano police get a movie outside of a small cameo in movie 13 this is the frist movie to give them a main focus all 3 got there time to shine and Hiromitsu Morofushi gets a really cool sence where he saves Kansuke and then gets a super badass action sence where he get himself out of a frozen lake. As somone who not seen any episode with the Nagano police before the movie dose a great job explain there characters and will make it very easy for a newer Detective Conan fan jump into this movie without having to know a lot of law from other media unlike other recently released anime movie I am looking at you Colorful Stage! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing. If your worried if this mean Conan himself take a back seat dont worry he has plenty to shine along side Ram and the other Detective Boys who are also along for the ride, like all Conan movie the movie dose end in a cazzy set piece like somthing like a James Bound or Fast & Furious using the Nagano landscape full advantage and with added lasers. The animation is top-notch with some lovely detail to the Nagano landscape with snow gorgeously animated, the music is also wonderful with a super catchy tune from King Gnu for the ending with a ending titles showing off the wonderful Nagano landscape in live action witch I am sure delighted the Nagano tourism board.

Overall Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback is great for long time Conan fans and new Conan fans watching the both group mystery come together was really fun, after the mad boxoffice for Demon slayer infinity castle this is a great time to be a anime fan here in the uk Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback is out in Uk cinema 26th september thanks to Trinity Cine Asia you can grab your tickets at this link
