Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is a manic, explosive anime Masterpiece based upon the Manga Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto that lead to a 2022 Anime by Studio MAPPA who return for this 2025 movie.

The story picks up right where the Chainsaw Man anime left off after temporarily losing his work partner Power, is given a temporary new work partner, Beam the Shark Devil who is easy one of the best highlights of the movie and steals the show anytime he shows up. Denji gets lucky and scores, a date with Makima his boss and woman of his dreams after spending the day cinema surfing watching movies Denji doesn’t get Makima tells Denji he dose have a heart and starts the main events of the movie.

Now knowing he has the ability to love Denji end up having a chance encounter when when covering for shelter from the rain in a phone box meeting Reze a quirky young girl who works at a cafe. The more Denji gets to know Reze the more the pair full in love but Reze holds a dark secret that will lead to the battle of Denji life.

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is an animation masterclass 99% of the movie with slightly treated characters designs for the characters making the characters pop on the big screen, that little bit better Makima character design changes, especially make her character cooler. I really enjoyed the experimental animation used in the final battle it really did add to the epicness apart from one sence.

The music was on point and most lovely to hear Encore of one of the best ending titles from the series. The new opening and ending where both beautiful songs with some really amazing animation to go alongside it.

Reze is a great addition to the cast and well help sells this movie it also great to see more character development for Denji with the rest of the Chainsaw Man cast all getting there own moments to shine.

I like this adapting, canon manga arcs to movies trend That is going on at the moment back in my day shoune jump anime movie was all filler that could be fun but was really throw away content in most cases with both demon slayer and jujutsu kaisen breaking that trend I hope to see more of this in the future and with demon slayer: kimetsu no yaiba – infinity castle breaking all types of records it’s going to be interesting to see what comes next for anime in cinemas.
