
Right off the heels of the success of there Akira re-release Anime limited are set to release the Anime classic Angel egg for the first ever time as a wide uk cinema release.
The 1985 Anime classic from director Mamoru Oshii (ghost in the shell,Patlabor: The Movie) Will be hitting uk cinema on 17th of june, this is great to see a other classic anime movie hitting uk cinema for a whole new audience to discover. After the huge hit of the Akira re release last month which made over a million at the uk box office its great to see Anime limited committed for putting some geart anime releases into uk cinemas.
From renowned director Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) and celebrated artist Yoshitaka Amano (Final Fantasy series), Angel’s Egg was once thought lost to time, out of reach for the many who yearned to experience the experimental Sci-Fi film that Helen McCarthy once hailed as “an early masterpiece of symbolic filmmaking”. Following its premiere at this year’s Cannes International Film Festival, Angel’s Egg will finally be released in cinemas featuring a brand new 4K remaster, based on a new scan of the 35mm film negative and overseen by Oshii himself
